"For the Love of Music ...Since 1866"

Isabella Saldana won First Place in the 2019 Tuerck Concerto Competition with the Andante Movement of Bernhard Molique's Flute Concerto in D Minor, Op. 69. She is the daughter of Dennis and Kathy Saldana of O'Fallon, IL  and a 9th-grade student at O’Fallon Township High School (OTHS). She studies flute under Matthew Allison. 

Besides the flute, Isabella plays piano and piccolo. She performed with the Belleville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in spring 2019. She auditioned and will be a flute substitute for the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She was selected to perform with the Illinois Music Educator Association's (ILMEA) Senior Band this past November. She marched with the O'Fallon Marching Panthers in the fall and will perform with the Honors Wind Ensemble at O'Fallon High School during concert band season. 

In addition to her musical studies, Isabella enjoys being a part of the OTHS Cross Country team, the First Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics team, as well as healthy cooking, and babysitting. She has started sharing her musical talents by teaching beginner piano lessons. Isabella has three siblings who are also musicians.
