APRIL 25 - ARTIST'S RECITAL
Born in Seoul, Korea, Jee-Won Oh has performed internationally as soloist and chamber musician, having performed in Austria, France, Germany, Switzerland, the Far East, South America, and throughout the United States. Ms. Oh regularly collaborates with cellist Mark Kosower and has appeared in concert with him worldwide. Recent seasons include return engagements at Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, at Kumho Art Hall in Seoul, and at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC as well as performances at the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Merkin Hall, and at Barge Music in New York. Together they recently recorded the complete works for cello and piano of Alberto Ginastera along with a Hungarian Album of music by Dohnányi, Bartók, Kodály, Liszt, Popper, and Rósza for the Naxos label. She also regularly appears as guest artist at the Sitka and Mammoth Lakes music festivals. Ms. Oh was the studio pianist and assistant to the famed cellist Janos Starker for five years and was an Associate Instructor of Piano at Indiana University from 1994-98. She received her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Indiana University where she studied with György Sebök and Shigeo Neriki. Ms. Oh received her Bachelor’s Degree from Han Yang University in Seoul where she was the recipient of a Young Chang Piano Foundation scholarship.
